What Happens During a Whole-Home Repipe in Surrey

A full Poly B replacement sounds big. Here's the day-by-day walkthrough so you know what to expect before we show up.

A whole-home Poly B replacement sounds disruptive. For most Surrey houses, it's a one-to-two-day job with a clear sequence. Here's what actually happens.

Before We Start

We inspect the system, confirm Poly B, and map the layout. Then we apply for the City of Surrey plumbing permit. No permit, no start. You get a written scope so you know what's included.

Day One

  1. Protect the space. Drop cloths, floor protection, clear work paths. We're not tearing your house apart for sport.
  2. Shut off and drain. Main water off. System drained so we can pull old pipe cleanly.
  3. Access points. Small openings where we need them: utility walls, under sinks, sometimes closets. We keep cuts minimal and route through existing pathways when we can.
  4. Remove Poly B. Old supply lines come out. We're looking for every section, including crawl-space runs that people forget about.
  5. Run new PEX-A. New pipe goes in with proper supports and fittings. Fixtures and appliances get reconnected as we go.

Day Two (If Needed)

Larger homes, multi-level layouts, or complex crawl spaces often need a second day. Same process: finish remaining runs, reconnect everything, clean up.

Pressure Test and Inspection

Before we call it done, we pressure-test the new system. Then the City inspector signs off. You get a copy of the completed permit for your records, your insurer, or your realtor.

Will You Be Without Water?

During active work, yes. We plan the shutoff window so you're not left hanging overnight when we can help it. Most jobs restore water by end of day. We'll tell you the plan before we start.

What About Drywall?

Some patching is normal. We keep openings small. We can point you to a trusted finisher if you want the walls closed up clean. We don't pretend a repipe leaves zero marks. We do keep the mess controlled.
